Both philosophically and visually my work is about transformation. To me, transformation is about continuing to look forward, being open to change, and embracing my ever-evolving process.
Creating art has transformed how I see myself and how I see the world around me. It has allowed me the freedom to take risks and to embrace chance.

I often work with discarded materials. I transform or up-cycle these unwanted objects, thereby giving the material a second life and creating more environmental value. In turn, these materials help me add texture to my work and give me the opportunity to create distorted grids, both key elements to my aesthetic.
My work involves building layers of texture, and sometimes, scraping away layers to reveal what is hidden beneath. This process allows me to transform my work over time. To make mistakes. To try new techniques. To begin anew.
