The Summons is a five-part visual sequence exploring how memory survives in colour, form, and repetition. Rooted in personal family history—particularly my grandfather’s summons to war—the work traces a path through anticipation, rupture, and return. Each piece holds a different temporal state: the stillness before impact, the chaos of disorientation, the slow resurfacing of memory.
In these images, flowers become the timekeepers—unfaded, unchanged, blooming as they always have. Their presence bridges generations, suggesting that the past does not vanish, but lingers in small and vivid ways.

I am a visual artist working primarily with layered photographic collage. My work is an invitation to pause, open your eyes, and look more deeply at the world around us. In our fast-paced, ever-shifting culture, it’s easy to overlook the quiet complexity and unexpected beauty of the natural environment.
I am inspired by the untold stories held in the landscape—the ants, butterflies, and rooks whose lives shape the world in subtle but powerful ways. I try to make work that honours those details, to wonder at them and make people aware of them.
I live and work on the Isle of Wight, off the south coast of the UK—an island rich in wildlife, history, and ecological diversity. It’s a place that offers space to notice things. Through my work, I aim to encourage that same kind of slow attention in others.
By reconnecting with the animals, plants, and overlooked patterns in nature, I believe we can restore not just our sense of wonder, but also our sense of responsibility. I’ve been fortunate to have my work shortlisted for several international photography and art awards.
