Time Folded International Art Exhibition

Time Folded International Art Exhibition
Time is not a singular, linear trajectory flowing forward — it can stretch, overlap, loop, and even fold in on itself. From June 20 to July 20, 2025, Independent & Image Art Space presents Time Folded International Art Exhibition featuring the diverse interpretations of 23 artists from Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania on the theme of “time.”
Centered on the concept of time, the exhibition showcases a wide range of media — including photography, digital art, collage, mixed media, video art, and animation — to explore the intricate structures and perceptual dimensions of time in contemporary visual language. Through these various media, the artists engage in a visual inquiry into nonlinear time, attempting to capture temporal states that lie between memory and imagination, stillness and movement.
The featured works approach the notion of “time as process” from multiple perspectives: from photographs that freeze fleeting moments to digital imagery generated through data and algorithms; from fragmented collages created through cutting and recomposition to video and animation pieces that redefine the perception of time through narrative rhythm. Together, these works construct a layered, shifting, and intersecting temporal landscape, reflecting the delicate interplay between personal experience, collective memory, and spatiotemporal entanglement.
The exhibition not only expands the boundaries of artistic mediums but also focuses on how visual language can reconstruct our understanding of time. From static to dynamic, from tangible to virtual, each form proposes a distinct pathway for dialoguing with time. In this way, the exhibition becomes a cross-cultural, multi-temporal platform of perception, guiding the audience through the fissures between reality and fiction, history and future, and inviting a rethinking of our position and sensation within the web of time.
